Manchester Maps

Manchester is a city and a metropolitan borough of the county of Greater Manchester. It is located in the south-central part of Northwestern England, fringed by the Cheshire Plain to the south and the Pennines to the north and east. The city is at the latitude of 53°;28'0" N and longitude of 2°14'0" W, 257 kilometers northwest from London. The center of the city is on the banks of the River Irwell, near its confluences with the Rivers Medlock and Irk, 115 to 138 feet above sea level.
The boundaries of the city are:
- To the north: Bury, Blackburn and Burnley
- To the northwest: Bolton, Wigan and Preston
- To the northeast: Oldham, Rochdale, Hudersfield, Halifax and Leeds
- To the west: Leigh, St Helens and Liverpool
- To the east: Hyde, Stalybridge, Glossop and Sheffield
- To the South: Cheadle, Wilmslow, and Alderley Edge
- To the southwest: Sale, Altrincham and Knutsford
- To the southeast: Stockport, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Buxton and Derby
